About Mel

I have been largely homebound for 15 years due to complex chronic illness and resulting disability. My trick to enjoying my life: Surrounding myself with a variety of analog fun that excites me and matches my differing levels of ability. I have a rolling cart by my bed, and now a little room, that keeps my analog stuff handy.

You can find me doing:

• puzzles of different sizes,
• devouring local and small run print media,
• collecting kawaii and vintage ephemera,
• writing snail mail,
• secondhand shopping for miniatures, and so much more.

I've always found small ways to keep track of my interests. Like a typewritten list with instax photos of completed puzzles, and a note on my phone with my list of mid-century pulp sci-fi dystopian novels along with a big notebook where I take notes so I can write a future niche book review zine.

Here on neocities is where I bring it all together in an archive and chat format about:

• what I'm collecting,
• what I'm up to,
• and where to find it.

Disability can keep life feeling isolated and small. I embrace small and like my own company, but also enjoy connecting over special interests. I hope this space brings us together on all things analog fun! I can't wait to get to know each other and nerd out over building a rich life during capitalism's breakdown (our present dystopian times be damned!).
